Original
I. Name
another name
could it be another name?
vacillating shades
too pink
too gray
colors of futures
that don’t exist
same space
same names
which one
which name
which one
which shade
I forgot your name
II. Face
delicate resemblance
of what has been
I saw you in him
I saw him in you
eyes that stab
and gouge out
my own
III. Structure
repeat
begin
just to end
played over
and over
the passions
of this sin
IV. Nothing
vastness
gaping to swallow
aching to wallow
but won’t
instead
stays open
bursting in hollow
V. Translate
begotten
lost
erratic fervor
squelched under
stillness
you are replaceable
I am constant
and we
are inevitable

SPARK
I.
so close to the core
sucked in by jewels
hoarding beauty
we suffocate
the darker the stone
the more obsidian reflects
I see
reflection
cold
wrinkled
untouched
pull back
extend to stars
soul rush
I see
reflection
warm
empty
full
there you are
II.
a scavenger of lust
waiting to be swept up by love
I've been using you
as a vehicle
to up above
III.
dancing army
frolics
prances about our war
they move
in sync
march of warriors
they take their guns
and shoot
fire at god
IV.
night showers down on us
wicked unknowing
obscures trust
I light a match
wondrous awe
at what surrounds
angels
demons
and the winds
blow us out
V.
found
in utopia
without directions
no knowing
of where to go
or where we came from
just familiarity
at being here
before
VI.
our remembrance
is of joy
happiness
the streets of when
the rivers of then
the path of this
constantly arriving
here
with us
VAMPIRE
you in your vampire suit
me in my angel suit
you saw me dressed as a devil one night
and now we’ve found us
something happens when you peel back time
nothingness exposed
souls
share
space
god chills
in a magnetic kiss
forever
in kinesthetic bliss
heaven
in hellish otherworldliness
fusion of polarities
your fangs
my wings
love psychosis
Vampire II
I awoke
covered in blood
bodies all around
panic
I ran to the darkness
snow wasn’t cold
I was cold
and all alone
Vampire III
so caught up in denying fangs
never thought to witness wings
fell pray to lust
erotic execution
not really living
but not yet perished
the undead
damned to see halos and horns
on everything
Vampire IV
the gift of seeing in the dark
presents
blood-sucking kin
regardless of choice
or heart
Vampire V
destroying self
taught creation
destroying souls
brought warmth
destroying life
gave birth
Vampire VI
the thirst
began to subside
I knew I would die
dreams of black and white
colored chromatic
something caught in my throat
identity morphed
curse absorbed
Vampire VII
you in your angel suit
me in my vampire suit
I saw you naked
and now we are one
immortal love

Spring
I. shed
wake up laughing
at your dream
stuck on repeat
birth from the pain
of what has been
broken
enter the crack,
the tunnel to being
life found
in feeling
II. stir
we sit,
we stare,
the same pond
the same frog
circumference of logs
distance in feet
back up
to get ahead
start running
and then
jump
soar
fall
heart first
III. blossom
1) sit at desk,
2) think,
3) scribble,
4) listen to others
the A, B, C’s
of What They’ve Seen
I longed to be there
but I was no where
wishing to be some where
never knowing
that I could be
where ever
I found myself to be
IV. weave
human drivers
keep going
moving forward
busy, busy bees
on a mission
have a purpose
a reason for things
racing for time
foot slammed hard
upon arrival
(the hand that steers
feels only the wheel)
but moments cannot be won
or lost
they just are
like us
strings of infinity
V. spirit
see in your life
what you will to see
in life
courage,
to view the recorded
and then throw away the machine
“We shall not cease from exploration
at the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and know the place for the first time.”
-T.S. Eliot
